Charles Barkley had some blunt comments, as usual, about New York Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni on Tuesday night's Inside the NBA on TNT.
Here is what Sir Charles following the Knicks 96-93 loss the Celtics in Game 2, specifically the decision by D'Antoni to have Carmelo Anthony take the final shot of the game. (Anthony actually passed when he was doubled instead of taking the final shot, check out the video below).
Barkley: “Mike D’Antoni is always going to make excuses to cover his own (butt).”
Host Ernie Johnson: “[D’Antoni] says that if it comes down to it, Carmelo is getting the ball again at the end of the game.”
Barkley: “That’s why they are going to have a new coach next year......
Chuck later said he would not go to Carmelo in that situation, and that "Amar'e Stoudemire had it going."
