Danny Ainge has said on multiple occasions that Shaquille O’Neal will be ready for the playoffs, but today Co-Owner Wyc Grousbeck said he “hopes” Shaq will be available for the start of the post season. Wyc discussed many things, including resting the starters, on the Hill Man Morning Showthis morning. I still think Shaq has a bum achillies and whether or not he can play, shots or not, is seriously in doubt in my mind. I won’t believe that he is healthy until I see him go up for the opening tip on Sunday.
That being said, Wyc has been the most outspoken owner of a Boston sports team that I can remember and I applaud him for it. In a city that bleeds for its teams, people like to think that the people that run them have the same passion they do. Sound bites from John Henry and the Red Sox ownership group are few and far between and Bob Kraft usually just takes the politically correct approach. It has been refreshing to hear Grousbeck talk about the team throughout the year and give the fans a little insight to what is going on behind the green curtain.
